LMRE Announces Partnership with Women in Construction Tech

9.3.23

Women in Construction Tech (WCT) and LMRE announce a partnership aimed at increasing diversity, equity, and inclusion in the construction technology industry.

Women in Construction Tech, a community dedicated to empowering female founders, investors, and adopters to help create opportunities, and develop relationships for women driving innovation in the construction industry, today announced a strategic partnership with LMRE, a Built Environment Technology Recruitment and Search Consultancy, globally recognized for leading the way in Real Estate Tech, Construction Tech & Innovation talent management.

As part of the partnership, WCT will work closely with LMRE to create a more diverse and inclusive work environment, envisioning a construction industry where women, and those of a historically marginalized background, are well networked and support each other’s efforts to improve, advance and thrive in the space. This partnership is a step forward in achieving that goal and creating a more equitable future for women in the construction technology industry through hosting events and webinars, providing mentorship and networking opportunities, and minimising bias in the hiring process.

“It’s amazing to see how much demand there is for something like this in our industry. From our first event, we’ve had lots of interest and we are thrilled at how quickly we’ve grown this community. Clearly there was a need,” commented Antonia Soler, Founding member of WCT and Tech Office Director at Hilti Group. Julieta Moradei, the other Founding member of WCT and Partner at Hometeam Ventures explains the purpose and goal of the partnership; “As innovation rapidly remakes the construction industry, new roles are being created every day. Being in partnership with LMRE will ensure that our members have access to these amazing new opportunities and are generally prepared for the future of construction.”

“It fills us with immense pride to announce LMRE’s partnership with the Women In Construction Technology Organization”, commented Romey Oulton, US ConTech Consultant and Growth Partner at WCT, “at LMRE, we take ownership to ensure a client’s hiring strategy intentionally cultivates a diverse, balanced and inclusive recruitment process. The database WCT is building will be invaluable to ensuring we have centralized access to talented women in the ConTech space. In turn, it gives us further power to support candidates that otherwise may have gone unseen.”

About Women in Construction Tech

The community of Women in Construction Tech started the summer of 2021 when five women in the construction technology industry met at a coffee shop in San Francisco and sat at a table for 10. The open seats sparked a question… how could they find enough women to fill the other five seats? That idea inspired them to create this community.

With around 100 members with a mix of investors, technology adopters and innovation leaders from construction companies, and startup founders and employees, WCT hosted its first in-person event at the BuiltWorlds conference in Palo Alto in March of 2022. They achieved record-high participation and received great feedback and interest from the participants. Since then, WCT has hosted two more in-person events in Paris for the EMEA Summit and in Chicago for the Americas Summit, with their next event on March 20th at the Fieldwire office in San Francisco as part of the BuiltWorlds Venture West conference.

WCT hope to grow and expand with the creation of 5 local chapters in Boston, Latin-America, Madrid, New York, and San Francisco, whilst also building a database of women who are looking for speaking opportunities, hiring, and much more so that they can help make connections and increase representation and visibility for women in the industry.
